Explore Siargao

Siargao is best known for hosting one of the world's top surf breaks at Cloud 9, but most travelers underestimate everything else the island offers. Mangrove rivers, hidden lagoons, quiet outer islands, and a slow island culture that makes it the right destination when you don't want to overschedule your trip.

About this trip

This is a six-day trip designed for travelers who want both sides of Siargao — the surf and the stillness. You stay in General Luna, the small town that anchors most island life, and you split your days between the famous breaks, the inland mangrove rivers, and the outer islands that most day-tour groups skip. Whether you surf or not, this trip works. We pair the right hotel and the right guides to the version of the island you want to see.

Things Worth Knowing

Siargao is a small island and the airport is small, which means flights can be delayed by weather. We build buffer time into the trip but it's worth knowing in advance.

The surf at Cloud 9 is real, and it's not for first-time surfers no matter what anyone tells you. We work with instructors who will be honest about which break suits your level on a given day.

The Magpupungko rock pools depend entirely on the tide. We plan around the tide chart, but conditions can shift, and we may swap days if the timing doesn't work.

Cancellations within ninety days of departure are not permitted. Rates are per person, based on double occupancy, and subject to change.

Where you stay

Siargao has two kinds of accommodation worth booking. The first is a small boutique resort or villa near General Luna, walking distance from the surf and the restaurants. The second is a more remote eco-resort further up the coast, which makes sense for travelers who want quiet over convenience. We match the right one to your trip.

Day By Day
1
day one

Arrival

You're picked up at Sayak airport and driven to General Luna, about an hour through coconut groves. After check-in, we walk you through the small town so you know where the good restaurants are. The afternoon is unstructured. Most people walk the beach or sit somewhere with a coconut.

2
day two

The famous breaks

A morning at Cloud 9 with a private surf instructor, regardless of your level. If you don't surf, this is a good morning to watch from the boardwalk and have breakfast nearby. In the afternoon, we head to the lesser-known breaks at Quicksilver and Stimpy's, which are quieter and better for intermediate surfers.

3
day three

Three islands

A private boat day to Naked Island, Daku Island, and Guyam Island. Naked Island is exactly what it sounds like, a sandbar with no shade and clear water all the way around. Daku has lunch and shade. Guyam is the smallest, the prettiest, and the one most photographers come back for.

4
day four

Mangroves and lagoons

A morning exploring the Maasin River, which winds through mangroves with a famous coconut tree leaning out over the water. After lunch, we drive north to the Magpupungko rock pools, which appear at low tide and disappear at high. The timing matters, so we plan the day around the tide chart.

5
day five

Sugba Lagoon

A drive and a boat ride to Sugba Lagoon on the next island over. The lagoon is enclosed by limestone cliffs, with a wooden diving platform and water clear enough that you can see the bottom from the surface. The trip out and back takes most of the day. Quiet evening on the way home.

6
day six

Departure

Transfer back to Sayak airport for your onward flight. The trip pairs easily with a few nights in Cebu or in Manila if you want to extend.

Siargao

One of the world's top surf breaks on one side, mangrove rivers and quiet islands on the other. The trip for slowing down without doing nothing.

We don't sell Siargao as a fixed itinerary. This is the version of the trip we'd build for travelers who want both sides of the island. If you want a surf-only trip, a wellness-focused trip, or something paired with Cebu or Bohol, that's the conversation we have on the call.
